Beacon values the involvement of families. Families can play a significant role through sharing their perspective and experience. We believe the support that families offer has a positive impact for everyone.
Family is defined by the client and could include relatives and/or important ones who provide support.
Beginning with the initial tour, families are invited and encouraged to come and meet with staff to learn about the program and share their experience and expectations. Family meetings occur regularly during a client’s stay.
From a family member:" The first time I saw Beacon House, I was impressed by this beautiful new house surrounded by trees. With every visit at the house, I have always received warm, friendly welcomes from a very caring staff. As a parent, I received encouragement and understanding... My (child's) co-ordinators showed a huge amount of devotion and took the time to speak to me on a regular basis. They helped my (child) with future goals. The staff were an enormous help to my (child) for the whole six months and also when it came (time) to find a new place to live. I was able to sleep at night, knowing (my child) was in the best of care..." parent of Beacon Program client.
